Vatican III

The Vatican releases an Instruction that gays — unless they've "clearly overcome" their homosexual tendencies — need not apply for the Catholic clergy.

After releasing the instruction, Pope Benedict XVI asked for a high five from somebody, anybody.

...but they all totally left him hanging.

Andrew Sullivan points out that today's Instruction from the Vatican injures the memory of Mychal Judge, the FDNY fire chaplain whose acts on 9/11 (and before) have made him the subject of much praise.
